Man City spirit saw us earn Copenhagen point - Laporte

Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte says they can be proud of their 0-0 draw at Champions League opponents FC Copenhagen.

Pep Guardiola's side went down to ten men in Denmark after just 30 minutes, when Sergio Gomez was shown a straight red card after being judged to have denied a clear goalscoring opportunity.

Earlier in the game, Rodri's superb strike found the top corner, but was chalked off after a lengthy VAR review, before Riyad Mahrez saw his penalty saved expertly.

Laporte said, "Tough game. We tried everything until the end. Obviously it was more difficult 10 against 11.

"But we tried everything. I'm proud of the team how we reacted and how we played more than 60 minutes with one less player.

"It's important the spirit of the team being very good. I'm very proud of the team and now we're focused on the next one."
