Manchester City goalkeeper Zack Steffan believes it was vital to get a win ahead of the Manchester derby on Saturday.
The Citizens have a huge game against their bitter rivals in the Premier League at the weekend.
They warmed up for the clash with a 3-0 win over Marselle in the Champions League group stages.
Steffan got a chance to play in the dead rubber, as opposed to no.1 keeper Ederson.
"I love shut-outs! The guys in front of me did a really good job in terms of limiting their chances and I didn't really have too much to do so kudos to the guys in front of me," Zack told the club's website.
"We wanted to get the win and a shut-out to keep the confidence going ahead of the derby at the weekend.
"It's a big game and we're excited for it."
