Manchester City ace Ferran Torres says the players were aware of the record available going into their 4-3 win at Newcastle.
A thrilling 4-3 triumph, helped by the winger's first hat-trick for City, secured a record 12th successive league victory on the road.
It's another record for City, and one that surpasses anything previously achieved away from home in England's top four divisions.
“When we faced this game we knew we could make history as the team with most wins away," Torres reflected.
“It was good motivation for us, the team pulled together in the good and the bad moments and that's why we ended up like that."
On his hat-trick, Torres continued: “It's been a season of learning for me, the Premier League is a very different competition from what I was used to, it's very physical.
“But I think I have adapted very well and I keep improving every day."
