Olympique Marseille midfielder Charles Kabore says cousin Issa Kabore knows he needs to step up his game.

The fullback is on-loan at OM from Manchester City this season.

Charles Kabore told La Provence: "He is 21 years old; at his age, I was either in the stands or on the bench. He is lucky to be on the pitch and he is coming out of two full seasons. When he got the offer from OM, he called me and asked me: 'Tonton, what do you think?' I simply told him that OM marks you for life and that it is not reflected when such a possibility arises. He realised his dream and made an excellent choice.

“With (Jonathan) Clauss, it is complicated for Issa. He is as good as him, but he has to raise his level. I have seen all his matches since the start, I find him good, he is evolving in his play. He is really offensive, he can even play winger if the defence is four. He is mobile, creates shifts, takes risks, never stops running."
