Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic insists he never wanted to leave the club this winter.
The 25-year old Montenegro international was the subject of a potential Etihad Stadium exit this month, especially after City purchased Wilfried Bony from Swansea City for £28million.
However, City boss Manuel Pellegrini made it clear that Bony had been bought to replace Alvaro Negredo and that he planned to keep Jovetic who is determined to remain at Eastlands and deliver more for the reigning Premier League champions.
"I never wanted to go because I have a lot more to show and a lot more goals to score," he told Sky Sports News HQ.
Jovetic started the season in impressive form but a series of hamstring injuries have restricted him to nine starts for 13 league appearances in total which have yielded five goals.
