Manchester City right back Kyle Walker has taken on the unusual role of teammate Ilkay Gundogan's hype man.

The German is in outstanding form with the Citizens, scoring four goals in the past two games in the Premier League.

As they prepare to take on Real Madrid in the Champions League semi final second leg, with the game poised at 1-1 after the leg in Spain, Walker has compared Gundogan to Real and France legend Zinedine Zidane.

“I've seen a few tweets and been joking with Gundo that he turns into prime Zidane in the last few months," Walker said on Tuesday to reporters.

“Sometimes you have to shine, and he does it at the business end of the season."

Gundogan may leave City in the summer, given Barcelona have offered him a two year contract.
