Manchester City defender Eric Garcia was so determined to sign for Barcelona he even agreed to a pay cut.

According to InsideFutbol, he was desperate to finalise the move before the summer transfer window closed.

It is likely he will sign a pre-contract with the Catalan giants in January and move there in the summer on a free.

But he was so eager to sign for Barca now that he offered the club a pay cut on his current wages to secure the move.

The request did not make a difference, as the issue was the fee between the two clubs.

City did not budge on their valuation and Barca refused to meet it.
