Manchester City defender Nathan Ake praised the performance of every player as they defeated Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.
The Reds put in a solid shift away from home, but the Citizens were the ones who claimed the result and progressed into the quarter-finals.
Ake, who was in the lineup despite playing in the World Cup, scored the winner for City in the second half.
"It was good to be back. It was a little bit strange but it was a good game and exciting," he said to the club website.
"We managed to win so it was good."
"We didn't have too much training so it was tough in the end.
"Everyone played well, coming in like this to have the pace like this, it was good to see."
