Manchester City chiefs are monitoring the progress of RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann.
The Daily Mail says City boss Pep Guardiola is now entering the final 12 months of his contract at the Etihad.
And with Guardiola having made his worst-ever start to a season, there are reports City are preparing a shortlist of candidates to replace him should he decide not to extend his stay in Manchester.
And there are two names on City's wish list: RB Leipzig boss Nagelsmann and the former Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino remains a free agent after being sacked last season.
