Manchester City out of contract star Ilkay Gundogan has ruled out returning to Borussia Dortmund this summer.
The German, who won the treble with City as club captain, has not agreed a new deal with the club.
While Gundogan has not decided his new team, with offers from City, Barcelona, and Saudi Arabia, he did clarify that Dortmund was not an option.
“There was contact with Borussia Dortmund," he said.
“Not with me personally, but between [sporting director Sebastian] Kehl and my advisor.
“Of course I have a strong connection with BVB. I wasn't surprised the rumours started.
“But the probability wasn't too high for me. It wasn't a big issue for me to return to the Bundesliga.
“Basically, there is no decision yet [on my future]. Conversations are running in the background."
