Man City building new academy in Uruguay

Manchester City are building a new academy in Uruguay.

The City Group have announced the academy will be built in partnership with their Uruguayan sister club Montevideo City Torque. City first invested in the club in 2017.

City chief Ferrard Soriano declared: "Despite the current global uncertainty we are living in, we are proud to reaffirm our long-term commitment to Uruguay through the construction of a City Football Academy that joins the other three in Manchester, Melbourne and New York.

"Our experience in building and managing projects of this nature shows us that our employees benefit significantly from being assembled in one place.

"In addition, the high quality of the facilities and the high level of training itself help to implement the distinctive playing style of City Football Group's clubs, as well as promoting the training and development of young talents in both Uruguayan football and the rest of the South American continent."
