Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admits they could release summer arrival Philippe Sandler for loan in January.
The former PEC defender signed for City midway through last season before joining the champions over the summer.
Sandler was training with City's first team during the international break, giving Guardiola the chance to make an assessment.
"We are going to look at him, actually we wanted to do that already in preseason. In the foreseeable future we will decide whether he will stay here or be loaned out," said Guardiola.
"Unfortunately, he has been injured during the past weeks, but he has now trained with us twice. We will have to determine his level. If he trains with us every day, he gets better and we can analyse his level.
"Maybe we will let him play in the second team now and then, so that he can get a game rhythm. In December or June we will make a decision about his near future. Now it is up to him to prove that he has the level to come with us. He is still a young player."
