Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed the hidden meaning behind the flat cap he wore for their Premier League title parade on Monday.
Guardiola revealed the accessory was a gift from the wife of City's life president Bernard Halford, who died in March at the age of 77.
"One week ago, Bernard's wife gave me this present and I said we're going to celebrate the Premier League I'll wear it for Bernard," Guardiola was quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News.
"It is such sad news to hear of Bernard Halford's passing.
"It was an honour and a privilege to meet and talk football with him and his knowledge of this football club was amazing.
"He was a great man, but moreover, he was also a great football man with a complete understanding of the game from grass roots level up.
"His whole life was dedicated to the game, but mostly to Manchester City and we were lucky to have him."
