Man City boss Guardiola delighted with Haaland in win at Brentford

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was delighted with Erling Haaland's performance in last night's win at Brentford.

Haaland drew a blank as Phil Foden hit a hat-trick for the 3-1 victory.

"I cannot imagine one striker all around the world playing against Brentford surrounded by six players and having a comfortable game," he said. "Not even the best strikers in the game would survive in that.

"He was an incredible threat, so tall. Today is the first time he played 90 minutes, but being there helps the players for the second position be more involved and have more chances to score a goal.

"Thanks to Erling being there, Julian (Alvarez), Kevin (De Bruyne) and Phil had more spaces. Without him it would have been more difficult so he helped us a lot today."
