Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admitted he has regrets about one of his recent signings.

The Citizens head coach has made his feelings about midfielder Kalvin Phillips very clear.

While Guardiola admires the Englishman, he does not see a place for him in the starting lineup.

"Yes of course," he stated about Phillips, who has signed for West Ham United on loan.

"If I give him 10-15 games in a row he will play good but I did not give him that. I have players in the squad and decide we are looking for different things.

"I can only say how grateful I am for his behavior off the pitch and hopefully he can get the minutes and next season we will see what happens.

"I wish him all the best for short time in London."
