Mainz coach Martin Schmidt is delighted with the impact of on-loan Stoke City striker Bojan Krkic.

The attacker is on-loan at Mainz to the end of this season and produced a goalscoring performance for their 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich last week.

Bojan is expected to start against Borussia Monchengladbach and Schmidt enthused: "He has shown that he is gaining momentum and is in form. When everything fits, the chance is that, on Saturday here, he can show what he can do.

"I told him before Munich: 'This is your stadium, your opponents, your place, go out there and play!'

"He has done that. And also Gladbach is a team with Champions League quality. Sure, this is a challenge that he gladly takes, where he can prove himself and show. And he can make the difference. We ask this from him."
