Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly told his coaching staff he expects to keep his job at Old Trafford next season.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that van Gaal has told those closest to him that he has held positive discussions with United vice-chairman Ed Woodward and the Glazer family about his future with the Red Devils.
The Dutchman has one year remaining on his current deal in Manchester, but with United currently sitting outside the top four and in danger of missing out on a Champions League spot for next season, speculation has mounted that van Gaal could face the axe at season's end.
Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been heavily linked with the top job at Old Trafford and it is believed the United board are divided over whether to replace van Gaal with the Portuguese.
