Luka Romero thrilled to prove Lazio matchwinner against Monza

Luka Romero was thrilled to prove Lazio's matchwinner for victory over Monza on Thursday night.

The youngster struck the first goal of his senior career for the 1-0 win.

"It's enormously emotional scoring at the Olimpico in front of all these people. I am very happy with the goal and the three points," Romero told Sky Italia.

“The whole team always gives me advice and I am very pleased about that, as they help me to grow. Luis Alberto is a special friend for me, so is Pedro."

He is the second-youngest Lazio player to score in Serie A after Alessandro Capponi, aged 17 years and 129 days during a 2-1 win over Lucchese in December 1936.

“For me and the whole squad, the coach is so important, we need to follow his guidance and keep winning.

“This is the best gift in the whole world. I want to salute my mother and brother who watched the game in Mallorca."
