Luis Campos is firming as a main contender to land the sporting director post at Newcastle United.

The club's new owners are keen to appoint a sporting director and are studying several big names.

Former PSG chief Antero Henrique is being considered, as is Lokomotiv Moscow's Ralf Rangnick.

However, Le 10 Sport says Campos is now well placed to land the Magpies post.

The former Monaco and Real Madrid chief is a free agent after helping build Lille's championship winning team last season.
