Aston Villa skipper Fabian Delph accepts that the departure of striker Christian Benteke, if it happens, would leave a gaping hole in the Villa squad.
The Belgian striker has been heavily linked with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool.
Delph, who signed a four-and-a-half-year contract in January, said: "It would have a big effect (if Benteke left).
"He is a great player, world-class in my opinion, a good lad to have around as well. It would be a big loss.
"He scores a lot of goals."
