Loris Karius has discussed his whirlwind move to Liverpool.

The German goalkeeper was confirmed as Jurgen Klopp's third permanent signing last week, arriving in a £4.7m deal from Mainz.

“[First contact] was just before the season ended with my consultant Florian Goll," he told SportBild.

“But I told him that I would only deal with it if it was really concrete because I didn't want to be distracted during the season run in with Mainz.

“Then, actually, everything happened very quickly. The days before signing my contract, I had a good look at everything in Liverpool, the club and the environment.

“I was immediately convinced this would be the right and next important step in my career."
