An own-goal by Chelsea loanee Thibaut Courtois cost Atletico Madrid their 100 percent start in Spain's La Liga season, as Los Rojiblancos were defeated 1-0 by Espanyol on Saturday.
Despite a stellar start to the season which has included three clean sheets and a high number of world class saves, the 21-year old Belgian picked the ball out of his own net after struggling to deal with a Juan Fuentes cross.
After close to ten minutes of play in the second half, Fuentes sent in a cross from the left hand directed for Sergio Garcia, only for the ball to bounce of Courtois' left arm and into the back of the net.
The loss forced Atletico into second place on La Liga's standings, one point behind Catalan giants Barcelona.
