Newcastle United new boy Tino Livramento insists he was totally determined to sign for the club.
The former Chelsea and Southampton right-back has signed on the dotted line from the relegated Saints.
Not only did Livramento have no intention of playing in the Championship, but he knew playing in the Champions League with Newcastle was too good an opportunity to turn down.
"There's a lot of reasons I wanted to join," he told Newcastle's media channels.
"It's a massive club historically and with the project they're on now, it's attractive for any footballer.
“As soon as I heard the interest from my agent, I thought 'I want to try and get this done'. I'm really happy to be here."
