Liverpool striker Salah makes clear: I really want Fowler record

Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah admits breaking Robbie Fowler's goalscoring record will be a special moment.

Salah is one goal away from equaling Fowler's record for most goals scored in the Premier League.

The Egyptian has scored 127 goals in the English top flight and he will break the record if he scores two more.

"After my first season I had scored 31 times and I thought I will be the top scorer for Liverpool in the Premier League," said Salah.

"I had it in my mind that I had to chase it. That was one of my motivations. Every day I woke up, I thought about breaking the record.

"It will be special. Being number one will be very special for my career at Liverpool. It's really something that I've been chasing."
