Liverpool striker Mane insists Senegal teammate Dieng 'can be best in the world'

Liverpool striker Sadio Mane has no doubts about the potential of Olympique Marseille whiz Bamba Dieng.

In eight games with OM, Dieng has scored three goals and produced an assist. The young striker is in his first season in Europe, having been snapped up from Senegal's Diambars FC a year ago. OM placed Dieng at Diambars on-loan last season before bringing him to France for the current campaign.

And in the opening games of the new season, Dieng hasn't looked out of place in coach Jorge Sampaoli's XI. For Mane, the impact of Dieng at Marseille is no surprise.

Quoted by Le 10 Sport, Mane said of his Senegal teammate: "He has all the future in front of him.

"I think he can become one of the best strikers not only in Africa but in the world. With the qualities he has and if he works even harder, he could do it.

"In any case, we are here to help him."

While primarily a centre-forward, Dieng can also play on the left-flank. Having signed for OM in July, the French giants haven't released the length of his deal. His move from Diambars cost OM a knockdown €400,000.
