Liverpool striker Jota tribute to Diaz after victory over Forest

Liverpool striker Diogo Jota paid tribute to Luis Diaz after victory over Nottingham Forest.

Jota scored, along with Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez for the 3-0 win.

Diaz sat out the game after learning his parents had been kidnapped at home in Colombia.

Jota said: "Luis was with us in the hotel then he went home. It's a very hard situation and I don't know how anyone would react if it happened to you.

"He was going to play. I played instead of him and I showed him his shirt to show we're with him and we hope everything works out.

"It's unimaginable to think a situation like this could happen. We can just support him and show him we're with him."

He also said of the win: "A different Liverpool, like the manager has been saying as well, it's like 2.0. Different players, different system, different way to play. We are just trying to do our best and things are working well for us. As long as that happens, everyone will be happy.

"We have a good team, we can make a lot of changes and still perform. We are still involved in a lot of competitions and we go for it. As long as we are winning, everything is fine."
