Liverpool striker Danny Ings was forced to come off due to discomfort after 36 minutes in to the U23 game against Manchester City on Sunday.

U23 boss Neil Critchley revealed after the game that he is taking extra precaution with the 25-year-old, who has missed the best part of last two seasons with multiple serious injuries.

"It's more a precaution than anything," he told the club's website.

"He felt something very early in the game and he wasn't quite right, so we're not taking any chances with Danny and there are plenty of first-team games to come."
