Liverpool are getting closer to a new contract for James Milner.
The veteran midfielder was rumored to leave the club in the summer, with the likes of Aston Villa circling.
However, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano claims that Milner is likely to renew for a year.
When speaking on the Here We Go podcast, Romano intimated that Milner is still in the plans of manager Jurgen Klopp.
"For Milner, they are progressing in talks. So it is not fully agreed yet. But for James Milner, Liverpool are getting closer to an agreement to extend until 2023, so one more season," he said.
"For Milner, some English club is approaching him to ask him if he wants to try a different experience. But now, Liverpool are still pushing to have Milner signing a new contract."
