Liverpool have opened new contract talks with Ibrahima Konate.

Le 10 Sport says the Reds are now seeking to secure the France defender to a new deal.

Konate's current contract runs to 2026.

Last month, the France international admits a move to Paris could happen.

"To say no would be to lie," replied Konate when asked about signing for PSG in the future.

"PSG has made sure to recruit players who get along well and who play in the French team together. And even for the people and the Parisian fans, it makes them happy, it's what they had been waiting for for years, to have Parisians or at least French players in the team."

Asked if any France teammates have tried to convince him about PSG, Konate replied: "Olalala… I am not going to answer this question in relation to what they do."
