Liverpool are making a push to prise Danny Sturridge away from Chelsea in January.The Sun says Anfield chiefs have told the Blues of their interest in Sturridge.

And boss Brendan Rodgers will try to seal a deal as early as possible to avoid a repeat of the summer fiasco when he failed to sign Clint Dempsey.

Chelsea want to bring in Radamel Falcao from Atletico Madrid at the turn of the year. And the £15 million sale of Sturridge would help offset around a third of the near-£48m fee required.
