Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is close to agreeing a new contract.
Jones' current deal doesn't expire until the summer of 2025 but the Reds have offered new terms to the 21-year-old, who has come through the ranks at the Academy.
Liverpool are mindful of the fact midfield trio James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are all at present due to leave at the end of the season when their contracts expire, says the Liverpool Echo.
Teenager Harvey Elliott, a regular for the Reds this season, penned a new deal in August.
And while Liverpool will also look to strengthen the engine room during forthcoming transfer windows - they have a long-standing interest in Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham and have previously been tracking Konrad Laimer of RB Leipzig - boss Jurgen Klopp continues to have faith in Jones.
