Liverpool hope to announce the signing of Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana next week. The London Evening Standard says a £25m fee has been agreed for the England playmaker.
Liverpool made an offer for the player before the World Cup reported at around £25m but Southampton declined, putting any move on hold while he was in Brazil.
But with the player returning from the World Cup on Wednesday, Liverpool have held further talks with the South coast club eventually agreeing on a fee of £25m plus various performance related add ons.
Lallana is expected to have a medical at Liverpool's Melwood complex later today.
Liverpool have already signed another Southampton and England player this summer, capturing striker Rickie Lambert for £4m.
