Liverpool management prepared to see Salah run down deal; won't budge on price

Liverpool management face seeing Mohamed Salah running down his contract next season.

The Mirror says Liverpool and Salah refuse to budge over their contract demands, meaning the striker is about to enter the final 12 months of his current deal.

However, the prospect of Salah leaving this summer is very unlikely as the Reds have put a £60million price tag on the Egypt international's head.

With any foreign club able to secure the striker to a pre-contract from January 1, it's unlikely any team will be willing to commit to Liverpool's valuation.

Real Madrid continue to be mentioned as a likely destination for Salah, who stated to Marca last season: "I hope to be able to play for many more years. Why not? No one knows what's going to happen in the future, so... maybe one day [I will play in in Spain], yes."
