Liverpool legend John Aldridge says Fabinho should be starting games for the Reds.
Writing in his Liverpool Echo column, Aldridge said: “Fabinho's failure to start Sunday's game against Tottenham was an interesting one.
“Brazil played in Europe during the international break in Portugal and the Czech Republic and he only played three minutes at the end of the second fixture, so he didn't have too many miles to cover and surely wouldn't have been fatigued.
“So I found his omission from the team that started the Spurs match strange, I must admit.
“At the moment, he is imperative to Liverpool and he's been excellent for a number of months in midfield. I think at this present moment in time, he is absolutely Liverpool's best midfielder, without a doubt.
“For me, Liverpool lost a lot of battles in there and as soon as he came on, he changed it all. I thought he might have come on a lot earlier to steady the ship but when he did come on, he was a class act."
