Liverpool laying groundwork to bring back Rangers boss Gerrard

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is being lined up for a return to Liverpool.

The Mirror says Gerrard is being lined up to replace Jurgen Klopp as manager at Liverpool following growing concerns from the club's chiefs over the German's future.

There is a fear that Klopp, who led Liverpool to their first Premier League title last season, will succeed Joachim Low as boss of the German national team.

The Reds manager is the outstanding candidate for the Germany job in the eyes of the German Football Association (DFB) and they are planning on making their approach soon.

A source has revealed that Klopp would find it hard to turn down the offer, no matter how much he is enjoying himself in Merseyside.
