Liverpool great Owen backs Man Utd no. 2 Giggs to go out on his own

Michel Owen is of the belief that Ryan Giggs will soon look to move into managing a team of his own.

The former star midfielder had a brief taste of management at the end of last season when he replaced David Moyes in the Old Trafford hotseat and is chomping at the bit for another crack at the top according to Liverpool legend Owen.

"Now he's too excited to become a number one again. If he hadn't had that experience he would have been far more patient," Owen said.

"Now he's tasted it, he will want to get straight back in."

Giggs is currently number two to Louis van Gaal at United but there have been reports of a rift between the pair which could eventually force the 41-year old to seek a managerial pathway of his own.
