Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson: So much room for improvement

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is adamant they'll continue to improve through this season.

Alisson, yet to be on the losing side in the Premier League since joining in the summer, insists the Anfield giants are keeping their feet on the ground — but also knows how good they could be.

The £66million buy from Italy's Roma said: “It's a really important season for us — one of high expectations.

“There are already high expectations on us, given our quality. We have demonstrated this with only one defeat in the Champions League and we are unbeaten in the Premier League, having achieved important results.

"So I definitely believe that we're on the right track but it's too early to get excited. We have to keep our feet on the ground.

“We know it's going to be really difficult this season, given the quality of the other teams. We know how difficult it is to win this league.

“We have to fight a great deal, taking it game by game and step by step to do everything right and continue on the trajectory we're on at the moment."

Alisson added: “We know we can improve on the pitch. I think that's a positive thing, taking into account the campaign we've had up until now – joint-leaders with Manchester City – and there is still room for growth, both technically and tactically.

“It's a positive thing for us and a positive thing we can work towards, so we're always aware it's a difficult league and we can give everything on the pitch.

“That's our biggest challenge: to continue growing and continue to get better, so when other clubs maybe have a dip or have peaked, we can continue getting better and doing our best on the pitch."
