Liverpool defender Lloyd Jones has been arrested.

The Daily Mail reports Jones was arrested for an alleged nightclub assault.

The 21-year-old defender is on loan at Swindon Town and was arrested in the early hours at a Cheltenham haunt last month.

Swindon had earlier lost away at Port Vale on their way to relegation from League One.

Jones - who cost Liverpool £150,000 from Plymouth Argyle in 2011 - spent time on loan at Cheltenham two seasons ago.

He signed a new contract at Anfield earlier this season.
