Liverpool chief Schmadtke key as plans in place for Crystal Palace midfielder Doucoure

Liverpool chief Jorg Schmadtke is ready to revive his interest in Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure.

The Frenchman moved to Palace last year from Lens.

And his form has him being considered at Liverpool as an alternative to Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.

The Mirror says Doucoure was considered by Wolfsburg, where Schmadtke was in charge, before he was signed by the Eagles.

And the German is ready to try again if Saints refuse to drop their valuation.
