Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk admits he and Trent Alexander-Arnold had to work together to keep Jeremy Doku quiet.
Doku had his moments for Manchester City in Saturday's 1-1 draw.
Van Dijk reflected: “I think every defender one v one against him will have a tough afternoon, he's a very good dribbler.
"I don't think he (Alexander-Arnold) had a tough afternoon on the whole but it's how you defend together and try to get two v one situations.
"He's still defensively very good and obviously in possession he has qualities that are very special, so he has the complete package. He has to keep doing what he's doing, keep improving, keep that high standard he has for himself and we all have for him as well."
