Liverpool boss Klopp reminds the press: Don't forget about Mane!

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has told the press not to forget about Sadio Mane.

Mane has had a down year by his lofty standards. He has scored six goals from 19 Premier League games this season, compared to 11 at this time last term.

Praise was rightly poured on Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah for their destruction of Southampton last Sunday. But Klopp says it's not right to forget about Mane's contribution.

"Sadio trains at an extremely high level, to be honest. That's the only way and that's good. Everything will be fine," he told the club's website.

"It's normal to talk about Mo and Roberto, and it's also normal for people to sometimes overlook a player's contribution – but I don't oversee it.

"It's obvious they are in good form and good shape and have been for months.

"Sadio's effort would have been the most spectacular goal of the game [on Sunday] – he was, I think, six-foot high to shoot. It was unbelievable, an Olympic jump!

"It's all good; it's always that when players are more in focus, it's because they deliver by scoring or whatever and we need that. I only don't like it if we talk constantly about these players because you will always forget somebody, but that's the world."
