Liverpool boss Klopp: Not buying Spurs striker Son among my biggest mistakes

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits he's wanted to sign Tottenham striker Heung-min Son.

Son has now spent seven years in the Premier League after signing for Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of around £22 million. The 30-year-old was level at the top of the goalscoring ranks with Salah last season as they shared the Golden Boot.

The Spurs forward missed the Liverpool match after undergoing surgery on a broken eye socket he suffered in the Champions League win over Marseille and Klopp hopes to see him at the World Cup.

"One of the biggest mistakes in my life was not signing him (Son)," the Liverpool boss told KBS News.

"Outstanding, world-class, and one of the best strikers in the world. I heard he'll be alright. Maybe need to wear a mask, but even with a mask, he'll be alright."
