Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is determined to burn off all rivals in the race for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

The youngster has been put up for sale by OL president Jean-Michel Aulas, who needs to raise cash this summer after missing out on Champions League qualification.

Manchester City had been regarded as favourites for Aouar's signature, though have been facing competition from Juventus.

However, Corriere dello Sport says Liverpool have made an aggressive move for the midfield schemer.

Klopp wants to bring Aouar to Merseyside this summer, convinced his style of play is ideal for his system.
