Napoli midfielder Eljif Elmas is interesting Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp has held a phone call with Eljif Elmas as Liverpool's search for a midfielder intensifies.

Journalist Ahmet Ercanlar claims the Reds manager told Elmas, 23, he would like him to join his squad at Anfield.

The North Macedonia international joined Napoli from Fenerbahce in 2019 and his former club in Turkey would be entitled to some of the fee, should a transfer go through.

Elmas has made almost 150 appearances for the Italian giants and helped them win the Coppa Italia in the 2019/20 season. However, he has found minutes harder to come by this season, potentially opening the door for him to move to Liverpool.
