Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane has once again justified his challenge on Man City keeper Ederson in the 5-0 thrashing for the Reds at Etihad Stadium last weekend.
The Ivorian received a straight red for a first-half high-foot challenge, which left the Brazilian keeper with eight stitches.
However, Mane says that he was only going for the ball and it is not something he can change: "I think in the next time I will get the ball before him, I will do my best.
"My intention was not to hurt the goalkeeper. It was bad and I wish him the recovery to come back healthy.
"I messaged him and said it is not what I wish.
"I think it was a challenge for the ball. I made contact and it was not what I wanted to do so I apologised to him. It is part of football, so I cannot change anything."
