LIVE FROM MCG: Man Utd ace Bruno Fernandes unsure of Ronaldo move; Eriksen excitement

After Manchester United dispatched Crystal Palace in their preseason exhibition, Bruno Fernandes faced the media to address the game and United's upcoming season.

Questions were raised of Erik ten Hag's system and how much impact he's had on the squad, but United's newest number 8 was adamant that ten Hag is very easy to work with.

"It's easy because he's very clear on what he wants. His ideas and his rules are very clear, all we have to do is follow. The results are there, we'll always need to improve in some areas but he's happy with the way things are going."

Fernandes expressed his delight on the inclusions of new United signings Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen. Given the similarities between himself and Eriksen, Fernandes relishes the opportunity to learn from him.

"I'm looking forward to playing with him and it's the same with Martinez I think they're good signings. I always learn from players in similar positions as me. Christian is an amazing player and he showed that last season with Brentford. He's a good quality player for us, because I think the best players make you improve."

The obvious exclusion was Portuguese teammate Ronaldo, but Fernandes was unsure if Cristiano has been keeping tabs on United's preseason progress or his standing with the club at this current moment.

"We know Crisitiano was our top scorer last season he's very important for us. I'm not sure what's going on, I spoke to him before our tour, he told me briefly what he needed and that was it. We have to respect his space"
