Lille midfielder Idrissa Gueye is believed to be in the final stages of completing a £9million move to Aston Villa.

The Guardian is reporting that Gueye need only pass a medical to finalise the deal, after the two clubs agreed on a transfer fee earlier in the week.

The 25-year-old Senegalese international will become the most expensive signing to arrive at Villa Park since the signing of Charles N'Zogbia in 2011.

Gueye will join Micah Richards and Scott Sinclair as Villa manager Tim Sherwood's third addition to the club this off-season.
