Leicester City are set to replace star man N'Golo Kante with Nampalys Mendy, according to reports from The Sun.

Kante is currently a wanted man following his fine performances in Leicester's title-winning campaign last term and the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United are all said to be interested in the French international.

Leicester are well aware of the fact that they could well lose Kante this summer and have reportedly moved on to sign a replacement in the form of Nice midfielder Mendy for a fee believed to be in the region of around £11.5 million.

It is understood that Claudio Ranieri sees Mendy, who has been compared to former Chelsea star Claude Makelele, as the perfect replacement for Kante if he happens to leave the King Power Stadium.
