Leicester City are ready to bid for Norwich City midfielder James Maddison.
The Sun says the Foxes have been looking for someone who could fill the brilliant boots of Riyad Mahrez if he moves on this summer — and Maddison is top of their list.
Leicester would pay £17million for Maddison, who scored yesterday when Norwich beat Aston Villa.
They may go even higher as they expect a big windfall from Mahrez's exit, with Manchester City reigniting the race. Maddison, 21, plays a similar role to Mahrez with his trickery and unexpected skills. He is also capable of stunning goals.
The former Coventry babe may lack Mahrez's pace, but he would bring a match-winning presence to Claude Puel's team as they brace themselves for the loss of one of their stars.
