Leicester star Vardy facing lengthier ban after being charged with improper conduct

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is facing a multiple match suspension after being charged by the Football Association.

The 29-year-old has been hit with an improper conduct charge following his reaction to being sent off in the second half of Sunday's 2-2 draw with West Ham United.

Vardy received a second yellow card from referee Jon Moss in the 56th minute when he appeared to go down in the area under a challenge from Angelo Ogbonna.

Moss felt Vardy simulated his actions and brandished the caution which ended the Foxes star's time in the dramatic clash at King Power Stadium.

Vardy reacted strongly to the call by yelling at Moss and pointing the finger which could land him in hot water with the FA who could add one or two more games to his automatic one-game ban which will see him miss the league leaders' home clash with Swansea City on the weekend.

Leicester have also been charged with failing to keep their players in control after West Ham were awarded a controversial penalty in the 83rd minute.

Both Vardy and Leicester have until 6pm on Thursday, April 21 to reply to the charges.
